Edmondson insists he and Jennifer have an ‘ordinary marriage’ and that’s why it’s so successful. ‘It’s just a farmer and a gardener that got married,’ he laughs, but it’s obvious they are very much in love.

‘I was very attracted to her indeed when we met. We were both with other people at the time but she was very nice to be with and very good-looking.

‘It was about five years before we got together. It happened bizarrely. We were close friends. I think that’s probably part of the reason why it lasts because we knew each other for quite a long time before we got together. It’s stable.’
